Job Summary
The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration:
Process monthly payroll accurately and within established deadlines.
Calculate and process overtime, statutory deductions, pension contributions, leave encashments, and final settlements.
Ensure payroll transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure full compliance with UAE Labour Law and relevant emirate-specific pension fund regulations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative changes affecting payroll, taxation, and employee benefits.
Ensure all payroll records and processes comply with statutory and internal governance requirements.
Employee Support:
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll-related inquiries.
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, payment issues, and questions related to salaries, deductions, benefits, and leave payments in a timely and professional manner.
Audit & Reporting:
Prepare and maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing payroll reports, reconciliations, and required documentation.
Assist in preparing payroll-related reports for management and regulatory purposes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the Human Resources and Finance departments to ensure payroll data accuracy and consistency.
Support the implementation and enhancement of payroll processes, controls, and system improvements.
Ensure alignment of payroll activities with company policies and financial reporting requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Minimum of two (2) years of proven payroll experience within the UAE in a similar role.
Demonstrated knowledge of UAE payroll practices, labour regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
Strong understanding of accounting principles related to payroll, accruals, provisions, and payment cycles.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Hands-on experience with payroll software and ERP systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
High degree of accuracy and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential employee information with integrity and discretion.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required.
