Job Summary
Al Marwan is looking for a skilled and experienced General Mechanic – Heavy Machinery to support maintenance and repair operations across the heavy equipment fleet. The role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on experience with construction machinery, and the flexibility to work across various workshop and site locations in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
The key duties and responsibilities of the General Mechanic include, but are not limited to:
Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, rollers, graders, and cranes.
Conduct routine preventive maintenance and inspection of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Diagnose hydraulic, mechanical, and engine-related issues using tools and diagnostic equipment.
Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, pumps, hoses, valves, and other mechanical parts.
Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities follow safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
Maintain accurate service records, daily reports, and job cards.
Coordinate with supervisors, operators, and workshop teams to prioritize and execute repair tasks.
Assist with on-site breakdowns and emergency repair requirements.
Follow proper procedures for tools, equipment handling, and workshop housekeeping.
Support additional technical tasks as required to ensure smooth workshop and field operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering or Heavy Equipment Maintenance.
4–6 years of hands-on experience in heavy machinery maintenance within construction or equipment rental industries.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, mechanical systems, and electrical basics.
Ability to read mechanical diagrams and interpret diagnostic results.
Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing heavy machinery components.
Strong attention to detail with good problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure in workshop and field environments.
Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.
Flexibility to work extended hours or travel to different sites as needed.
